Emozione nella cappella di St George del Castello di Windsor dove la principessa Eugenie – figlia del principe Andrea e di Sarah Ferguson, nipote della regina e nona in linea di successione al trono britannico – ha detto sì al ‘borghese’ Jack Brooksbank nel secondo matrimonio reale dell’anno dopo quello di maggio fra Harry e Meghan Markle.

In una giornata ventosa, con qualche cappello a rischio di volar via, la sposa ha sfoggiato un sobrio abito bianco disegnato dagli stilisti britannici Peter Pilotto e Christopher De Vos: leggermente ‘off the shoulders’, con una tiara ricevuta dalla regina decorata da un grande zaffiro, ma senza velo. Molti gli scambi di sorrisi, e qualche momento di timidezza da parte dello sposo, di fronte agli 850 ospiti d’onore presenti, in primis Elisabetta II e il principe consorte Filippo. Dopo il sì Andrea Bocelli, accompagnato dalla Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, ha intonato l’Ave Maria.
